Funky jazz is a musical genre derived from West Coast jazz, bebop, big band and hard bop jazz. it's the way African-American jazz musicians of the 1950s called an "uncomplicated, strong and rhythmic style of making music , full of sentiment, reflecting the heritage of blues, gospel and the African tradition. "1 The name funky jazz, therefore, does not simply mean live and danceable music, for which the name groove or groovy already exists. Rather, it refers to components such as emotion, depth, feeling. Beginning in the mid-1960s, it was known most affected as soul jazz. It is a different (and earlier) style than jazz-funk.
